EduBalance
EduBalance is a website that is primarily designed to help students settle in their new lifestyle and manage their both academic and personal responsibilities. EduBalance allows users to track their assignment deadlines through reminders, record lectures, and scan PDFs or notes to generate summaries and highlight key information for later use. EduBalance includes additional features for personal use such as roommate matching, local job listings (e.g. babysitting or part-time work), and a coupon section for student discounts.
EduBalance is intended and designed for college students who are looking to better manage their college workload, finances, and daily responsibilities while maintaining a balanced lifestyle fit to their needs.
We chose this concept as we believe that college students often face hard challenges balancing work, their personal life, and their newfoumd academic life. EduBalance aims to help centralize these needs into one scalable platform that can expand into multiple pages such as a dashboard, job board, roommate finder, and academic tools section. These new tools at the side of college students will help them find their foothold in the college terrain and help them find the balance needed in their new lifestyle.
The expected scope of this project is to create a student-focused website that provides useful academic and everyday college resources in one location. The website is planned as a multi-page platform that can expand over time as additional features are developed.
The website may eventually include 5–8 pages, such as:

Hello, I’m Brandon Elrod, a passionate student on the path of graduating with the an Associate’s in Software Development. I am from Alabama and some of my hobbies include gaming, reading, cooking, and I am an anime fan. I work as an Engineer Tech III at a manufacturing facility that I acquired from recieving a Microcomputer Applications certification from my major. For this project, I am interested in the planning and the design of the website, which is compatiable with my personality type of INTJ-A (Architect). As an Architect my mind constantly seeks to understand, its driven by curiosity and a desire to improve systems and ideas. The downfall of this is I value my autonomy and would rather work alone. This reverts to me being a lead over an area at my job before without a team, but because of this I feel comfortable with problems and innovation. To combat this I could partner up with complemenitive personality types like ISTJs, ENTJs, ENFPs, or INFPs. The first two types are well organized and detailed- oriented who value efficiency and clear planning. The others are creative types who could collaborate by bringing new ideas and different perspectives. Conflicts will occur with members who perfer a flexible or procrastinate. We could manage this by using clear communication of expectations and goals, regular check-ins, and by recognizing that different approaches can improve outcomes.
My name is Ian Harris, I am from Alabama and I have a few various hobbies and interests. I am incredibly into gaming, have recently gotten into gardening with some of my friends, and have been reading War and Peace on my kindle. I am an avid fan of indie development of all kinds, including animation, game development, and movies. As a fun fact, I have also recently become an ordained minister in Dudeism and can legally marry two people in the USA. I am hoping to get into Vanlife and continue my game development career on the road and wander all over the USA. For this assignment I am wanting to help write the code in HTML and help design the website with CSS. My personality type is INTP and it is stated that I value independence and autonomy highly. I work at my own pace and am set in my own ways, following my own interests and methods. I am confortable in my own imagination than in practicality or in social situations. As such I have more difficulty conforming to external structures, deadlines, and in social situations. The personality types I work best with are ENTJ, ENTP, INTJ, INFJ, and INFP. Conflict might occur on my side as I could be perceived as cold and detached from the conversation. I might also say something unintentionally hurtful or blunt while trying to be clear and concise in what I say. We could all manage this in maintaining clear expectations of goals and clear communication across all group members. We could apply what we are doing with the website where we remind each other of how to help and remind each other of the work ahead.
Hello, my name is Miguel Jose Francisco, and I am from Russellville, Alabama. I’m currently working toward a degree in Cybersecurity, and I’m taking this class to build my skills in web development and better understand how websites work from both a development and security perspective. In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, especially adventure and FPS games. I also like learning new things and experimenting with technology, and lately I’ve been getting into robotics. One unique thing about me is the scar on the right side of my face. The real story is that it came from an infection when I was born, but I usually say it was from a high-stakes battle I barely survived—it just sounds better. Right now, I work at a factory operating a mill machine, but my goal is to move into a career in IT. I have some experience with coding, starting with Scratch, and I also have a certification in Microsoft Office. I’m currently building my skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. My personality type is INTJ, so I tend to be pretty independent, analytical, and focused on long-term goals. I like solving problems and understanding how systems work, but I also know I can be a bit quiet or prefer working on my own at times. For this project, I’m interested in working on the HTML and CSS side, and possibly exploring how AI could be used in the site. I think I work best with people who are organized or bring creative ideas, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can build as a team.
